Entrance Exam Tuition in Ashtead, Epsom and Surrey for Eleven Plus, Common Entrance and scholarship exams
Tutoring is available for all entrance exams to any school, such as 7+, 11+, 12+, 13+ and Common Entrance, and for entry into any year, not just the usual years of entry (year 3, year 7 and year 9), but also years 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 etc.. The content of entrance exams varies considerably from school to school and changes frequently, but, as with all the tuition provided by Ashtead Tutor, the tuition will be individually tailored, in consultation with you, to suit the pupil's needs for the exams at the particular school(s) that you are applying to.
The subjects covered can include Verbal Reasoning and Non-verbal Reasoning, English, Maths, Science, Languages (French, German, Latin, Greek), Geography, History etc..

State Schools
Several schools in the Sutton area have joined together for a common Selective Eligibility Test of English and Mathematics as the first stage of entrance testing. The “participating schools” in the Selective Eligibility Test, “SET”, are Greenshaw High School, Nonsuch High School for Girls, Sutton Grammar School, Wallington County Grammar School, Wallington High School for Girls and Wilson’s School.
Sutton Grammar School (for boys) tests Maths and English in a two stage test using the Selective Eligibility Test as the first stage, followed by its own tests in English and Mathematics. Entry is into year 7 at 11+, with tests in the autumn term of year 6.
Wallington County Grammar School (for boys). Eleven plus tests in the autumn term of year 6 in Maths and English, using the Selective Eligibility Test as the only examinations.
Nonsuch High School for Girls. Nonsuch now requires just one stage testing with the Selective Elegibility Test as the first stage of examinations. In the second stage test in 2015 for entry into 2016 there are two elements: an English test and a Mathematics test. They will not be multiple-choice. Each paper will be around 45 minutes to 1 hour long. The tests will not include verbal reasoning or non-verbal reasoning.
Tiffin School, Kingston
Tiffin Girls' School, Kingston. A two stage test.For entry in September 2016, Stage one on Tuesday 6 October 2015 will consist of an English paper and a mathematics paper and both will be multiple-choice style tests. The Stage One Test will determine invitation to sit the Stage Two test only. Marks from the Stage One test will not contribute to the final determination of offer of places at the School. The Stage Two Test will test the core subjects of English and mathematics. It will be held on Saturday 14 November 2015. Places at the School will be offered based on marks from the Stage Two Test only.
Independent Schools
City of London Freemen's School takes students at many different ages, with varying requirements according to the age at which the test is taken. For 11+ tests are in Mathematics, English and Non-verbal Reasoning, normally taken in January of year 6.
Reigate Grammar School. Most children enter at age 11+ into year 7. Eleven plus examinations are in January of year 6 in English, Mathematics and an on-screen Reasoning test.

Royal Grammar School, Guildford. The usual ages for entry to the RGS are 11 (Year 7), 13 (Year 9) and into the Sixth Form (Year 12). Boys wishing to enter the School at 11 take the RGS Entrance Examination in the January of their Year 6. The examinations test English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning. Boys wishing to enter the School at 13 are advised to take the RGS Entrance Examination at the age of 11 and defer their place for two years, confirming their place by passing Common Entrance or Scholarship exams.
